Jimmie Sit

An Oak Park resident, multi-instrumentalist and singer Jimmie Sit is equally adept on guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. While he skillfully chooses from a range of Old Time songs, Jimmie excels at the high lonesome sound of uptempo Bluegrass and the driving, syncopated music of Louisiana’s Cajun traditions. Whether playing solo, in a group, or at one of several jam sessions in this community or the City of Chicago, Jimmie rips it up and has a ton of fun doing it. Jimmie takes a community-focused and practical, hands-on approach to learning instruments and functional music theory.
