This is a class for people who play guitar, but want to expand their playing to include jazz style playing. This session will focus on the sounds and style of the French Gypsy Guitarist Django Reinhardt. The Group Jazz Guitar class is $195 for 8 weeks.
This class is for students that already play guitar at a minimum of an intermediate level, can play songs, single notes, and have a basic understanding of chords including basic barre chords.
The class will explore
• Understanding musical progressions, forms, patterns of jazz songs
• Playing Melody of songs
• How to play jazz style chords up and down the neck of the guitar
• Basic soloing concepts
The class will primarily use examples of songs from The Great American Songbook of jazz standards form the 1930s and 1940s as interpreted by guitarist Django Reinhardt.
