Join us for an afternoon of sophisticated sound as we welcome Henry Carpender to the Friendly Jazz Showcase on Saturday, May 23rd. A versatile trombonist, composer, and educator, Henry has built a reputation as a unique voice in the Chicagoland music scene. With a Master’s in Jazz Studies from DePaul and a background in classical performance from the Eastman School of Music, his compositions draw from every corner of the musical world. From big band arrangements to intimate jazz sets, Henry’s work is as technically impressive as it is creatively expansive. Experience a premier performance of original works from a bandleader who has shared the stage with everyone from the Canadian Brass to Robbie Fulks.
