About the event
Celebrate local talent at the upcoming Friendly Community Gallery opening on Friday, July 10th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. This event is completely free, open to the public, and offers a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere for anyone looking for things to do in the Berwyn area.
Stop by to view the latest exhibition featuring works by Berwyn resident Kathryn Budd an 87yo abstract painter. She began oil painting in the 60’s and has a background in sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing and painting. The show, Making Marks, will be the first time Kathryn’s work has been the main focus of an exhibit.
Peter Budd, her husband, taught Special Ed at Morton in Berwyn and is an established ukulele performer and will be playing a small concert at the exhibit opening. If you look closely, you'll find one of Peter’s drawings in the show.
Last but not least, Christine Budd Blanek will have ceramic pieces in the exhibition. Christine teaches at Ceramics at Riverside Arts Center and is the daughter of Kitty & Peter.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, chat with neighbors, and see the new display in our community space. Whether you're a regular gallery-goer or just looking for a relaxed Friday night activity in the Western Suburbs, we invite you to come out and support our local arts community.
Lite snacks will be provided.
