Decoy Prayer Meeting

A staple of the Chicago roots circuit since 2004, this outfit brings the golden era of country and rockabilly straight to the Friendly stage on Saturday, October 17th. Their sound cuts right through the sweet spots of the 1940s through the ’70s, channeling the sharp twang of Webb Pierce and Faron Young, the guitar wizardry of Chet Atkins, and the rebel spirit of Eddie Cochran, Merle Haggard, and Gram Parsons. With past residencies at Fitzgerald’s, the Hideout, and the California Clipper—plus shared stages alongside roots legends like Billy Don Burns, Jason Ringenberg, and the Waco Brothers—they know how to pack a floor. Expect a hard-driving mix of timeless covers and razor-sharp original cuts from their Josh Shapera-produced record, West of California, South of North.
