About the event
The All Age Jazz Jam at Friendly is a celebration of both new music and learning the jazz tradition. The opening set features original compositions from some of Chicago's finest jazz musicians, anchored by our core house band: Andy Schlinder (saxophone), Adrian Ruíz (piano), Patrick Williams (bass), and Nils Higdon (drums)—with occasional guest artists and local pros rotating in to mix up the groove. During the second part of the evening, people are invited on stage to perform jazz standards. People of all skill levels and ages are welcome. Rhythm section instruments are provided.
