Scott Ligon and Casey McDonough have been musically joined at the hip since 2004. Their eclectic musicianship and brother style harmony can be found in the legendary group NRBQ, local favorites The Flat Five, The Western Elstons and on countless recordings made here in Chicago, including albums by Mavis Staples, JD McPherson, Robbie Fulks and Pokey LaFarge. They’ve backed performers like Chuck Berry, Brian Wilson, John Sebastian, Wanda Jackson and many others. The Friendly Music Community is proud to present these two respected and sought after musicians in an intimate, acoustic setting.

Hogan and Ligon - 11/24
Kelly Hogan and Scott Ligon first met in 2003. According to Scott “The very first time we sang together, it was perfect... In fact, our blend was so good that I decided to move to Chicago because of it.” Scott threw his guitar, his records and a mattress in the back of an old van and moved to Chicago to begin playing duo shows with Hogan at the Hideout. In the 20 years that followed, the two have gone on to make music with the likes of Mavis Staples, Neko Case, NRBQ, Chuck Berry, The Decemberists, Iron and Wine, John Sebastian, Wanda Jackson, Robbie Fulks, JD McPherson and countless others. As well as forming Chicago’s beloved supergroup, the Flat Five. The Friendly Music Community is proud and excited to present the special blend of Kelly Hogan and Scott Ligon, as nature intended... Two voices and a guitar.
